Dave Warner

Australian rock musician, author, and screenwriter known for pioneering suburban rock music. Dave Warner launched his career in Perth with proto-punk band Pus in 1972, then created the distinctive suburban rock genre with Dave Warner's from the Suburbs in the late 1970s. Named by Bob Dylan as one of his favourite Australian artists, Warner's influential work includes the gold-certified album Mugs Game, which introduced Australian audiences to culturally sharp lyrics addressing convict history and football culture with rap-like delivery in an Australian accent. Beyond music, Warner has established himself as a writer and screenwriter.
