Data Deletion Policy

This Data Deletion Policy explains how to permanently delete your Seektix account, linked provider connections, and personal information.

Account deletion is designed to be immediate and final. Once you confirm deletion, Seektix cannot recover the account or restore the deleted account data.

1. Delete Your Account

You can delete your account while signed in:

  1. Open your account profile.
  2. Select Delete Account.
  3. Confirm the deletion request.

Deletion starts immediately after you confirm it. If you later want to use account features again, you will need to create a new account.

2. What Account Deletion Removes

When you delete your account, Seektix immediately deletes account-linked information from active Seektix production systems. This includes:

  • Your Seektix account profile, including name, email address, and profile photo.
  • Active sessions.
  • Linked OAuth accounts, including Google, Facebook, and Spotify account links.
  • OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens, ID tokens, granted scopes, and token expiry metadata stored for linked accounts.
  • Favourites, follows, event attendance records, friendships, friend invitations, and other user-linked activity records.
  • User preference and recommendation data linked to your account.

Seektix does not store account passwords. Sign-in is handled through OAuth providers such as Google, Facebook, and Spotify, or through email magic links.

Google Contacts email addresses and Facebook Friends data used for optional friend discovery are processed transiently for the matching request. Seektix does not store a copy of your imported contact list or provider friend list after the request completes.

3. Backups and Recovery

Seektix does not maintain separate backups of user account data for restoration after account deletion.

Once deletion is confirmed, deleted account data is not recoverable through Seektix. We do not use operational records, security records, provider-side logs, or residual legal records to rebuild or restore a deleted account.

4. Unlink a Provider Without Deleting Your Account

You can remove Seektix's access to a connected provider account without deleting your Seektix account by unlinking that provider in Seektix account settings where available.

You can also remove Seektix directly from the provider's account permissions page. For Google, use Google Account permissions.

After unlinking or revoking access, Seektix will no longer be able to use OAuth tokens for that provider account. Some features, such as provider sign-in, Google Contacts friend discovery, or Facebook Friends discovery, may stop working unless you connect the provider again.

5. Request Deletion By Email

If you cannot access your account, email support@seektix.com from the email address associated with your Seektix account and request account deletion.

We may ask you to verify your identity before deleting the account.

6. Limited Residual Retention

Account deletion is immediate in active Seektix production systems. Limited residual records may remain temporarily only where necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations.
  • Detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Resolve disputes.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Maintain anonymised or aggregate analytics that no longer identify you.

Where we retain limited residual information for these reasons, we restrict access, keep it only for as long as necessary, and do not use it to restore your deleted account.
