Tootsie

Tootsie is a fast-paced musical comedy adapted from the 1982 Oscar-winning film. The story follows a talented but difficult actor who struggles to find work until landing the role of a lifetime through an act of desperation. With music and lyrics by Tony Award and Grammy Award-winner David Yazbek and book by Tony Award-winner Robert Horn, the musical is a Tony Award Winner for Best Book of a Musical and received 11 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical and Best Original Score. The production plays with themes of identity, ambition and ego while delivering comedic entertainment. It contains strong language and adult humour. The Australian premiere ran at Teatro in Sydney.
