About

The Sydney Swans are an Australian rules football club based in Sydney, New South Wales. Founded as the South Melbourne Football Club in 1874, the club relocated to Sydney in 1982 and became a cornerstone of the national competition. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), while the women's team competes in AFL Women's (AFLW). The club also fields a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and operates the Sydney Swans Academy for junior development. Known for their red and white colours and motto 'Cheer cheer the Red and the White', the Swans have won 10 VFA/VFL/AFL premierships and are chasing their first AFLW premiership. The club has been home to some of Australian Rules Football's greatest players, including Bob Skilton, Adam Goodes, Paul Kelly and Lance Franklin. Home games are played at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground, with headquarters located at the Sellers & Colless Centre Sydney Swans HQ in the Moore Park sporting precinct.
