About

The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. Founded in 1986 and first competing in 1987 as one of two AFL expansion teams, the Eagles have won four premierships and appeared in more finals campaigns than any other AFL club since their inception. The club's headquarters are located at Mineral Resources Park in the Perth suburb of Lathlain, and the team plays their home games at Optus Stadium, a 60,000-seat capacity venue. The Eagles also field an AFLW side that joined the competition in 2020. The club's eagle mascot is based on the iconic Australian wedge-tail eagle, and their colors of royal blue and gold represent the vivid imagery of Western Australia's land, sky, and ocean.
