Ben Folds

Ben Folds is an American singer-songwriter and pianist known for his work in alternative rock and indie pop. He rose to prominence as the frontman and pianist of the alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five, which was active from 1993 to 2000 and reunited from 2011 to 2013. Beyond his band work, Folds has pursued a solo career with multiple albums, including Sleigher (2024). He has collaborated with diverse artists including Regina Spektor, Weird Al Yankovic, and yMusic, and has undertaken experimental songwriting projects with actor William Shatner and authors such as Nick Hornby and Neil Gaiman. Folds served as artistic advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. from 2017 to 2025.
