Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden is an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. As pioneers of the new wave of British heavy metal movement, the band established themselves as one of heavy metal's most important acts following the 1981 addition of lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The core line-up has consisted of Harris, Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers. Iron Maiden released a series of platinum and gold albums including their 1980 debut, 1981's Killers, and 1982's The Number of the Beast, which became one of the most popular heavy metal albums of all time.
