Deafheaven

Deafheaven is an American blackgaze band formed in 2010 and originally based in San Francisco. The group began as a two-piece with singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy before expanding to a full lineup. The band is known for pioneering a distinctive style that blends black metal, shoegaze, and post-rock influences, a fusion later termed blackgaze by music critics. They released their debut album Roads to Judah in April 2011 on the Deathwish Inc. label and have become recognized for their atmospheric, emotionally resonant approach to extreme metal music.
