A Perfect Circle is an American rock supergroup formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Known for their alternative rock, art rock, and progressive rock sound, the band released three studio albums in the early 2000s: Mer de Noms (2000), Thirteenth Step (2003), and the cover album Emotive (2004). After periods of hiatus and sporadic activity, the band reformed in 2017 to record their fourth album, Eat the Elephant (2018). The group has experienced multiple cycles of activity and inactivity throughout their history, including a brief 2024 tour.
