Swervedriver

Swervedriver is an English alternative rock band formed in Oxford in 1989 around core members Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge. The band emerged from the British underground rock scene after being signed to Creation Records on the recommendation of Ride guitarist Mark Gardener. Their 1991 debut album Raise established them as key figures in early 1990s alternative rock, blending guitar-heavy shoegaze textures with power pop hooks and grunge-influenced heaviness in a distinctly British style. Influenced by My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr, and Husker Du, they maintained an active recording and touring presence through the 1990s, developing their sound to incorporate elements of psychedelia and classic rock. The band continues to perform, revisiting their classic material and catalog.
