About

Happy Mondays are an English alternative dance band formed in Salford in 1980. The original line-up consisted of brothers Shaun Ryder on vocals and Paul Ryder on bass, alongside Gaz Whelan on drums, Paul Davis on keyboards, and Mark Day on guitar. Dancer and maracas player Mark 'Bez' Berry later joined the band onstage, and Rowetta became a guest second vocalist in 1990. Originally signed to Tony Wilson's Factory Records label, the band is known for their alternative dance and indie rock sound, contributing to the madchester movement. They continue to perform, including anniversary tours celebrating their influential albums.
