About

Tim Freedman is an Australian musician and keyboardist best known as the lead singer of the rock band The Whitlams, formed in 1993. He has released nine solo albums and is recognized for his delicate piano styling and lyrics combining good-natured cynicism. His breakthrough came with the co-written song "No Aphrodisiac" in 1997. Beyond his work with The Whitlams, which includes celebrated albums such as Love This City, Torch the Moon, and Little Cloud, Freedman regularly performs intimate piano-driven cabaret shows in smaller theatres across Australia, offering a stripped-back alternative to the band's full orchestra performances. His recent work includes country collaborations such as the album Kookaburra from The Whitlams Black Stump project.
