Amorphis

Amorphis is a Finnish progressive metal band founded in 1990 by Jan Rechberger, Tomi Koivusaari, and Esa Holopainen. Beginning as a death metal act, the band has evolved to encompass progressive metal, folk metal, melodic death metal, and symphonic metal across their discography. Their compositions frequently draw inspiration from the Kalevala, the epic poem of Finland, and they are known for blending melodic metal with progressive soundscapes. The band's sonic approach combines both clean and harsh vocals with atmospheric and melancholic instrumentation. Recent work includes the album Borderland, which continues to showcase their evolving artistic direction.
